Mexico City's culinary scene just got another stamp of approval. The 2026 Michelin Guide
selection confirmed what locals already knew: Roma Norte and Condesa are home to some of the
most exciting restaurants in the country — and most of them are just steps from your front door if
you're staying with Localco.
Whether you're booking a table for date night or just want to know what the buzz is about, here's
your guide to the Michelin-recognized spots in the neighborhood.
Máximo Bistrot
Chef Eduardo García's Roma Norte restaurant has been a cornerstone of the city's dining scene for over a decade, and in 2025 it earned its first Michelin Star. Set inside a striking industrial space with soaring ceilings and warehouse-style architecture, Máximo blends French technique with seasonal Mexican ingredients sourced from farms around the city.
Expect a daily-changing menu, a sun-lit dining room lined with olive trees, and a sustainability-first philosophy that runs from the kitchen to the furniture.
Av. Álvaro Obregón 65 Bis, Roma Norte
Rosetta
Helmed by Chef Elena Reygadas — named the World's Best Female Chef in 2023 — Rosetta is set inside a beautifully restored townhouse and was among the first restaurants in Mexico to receive a Michelin Star. The menu reframes Mexican ingredients through a contemporary lens, with standout dishes like tamales filled with smoked cream.
The pink façade alone makes it one of the most photographed restaurants in the neighborhood — but it's the food that keeps people coming back.
Calle Colima 166, Roma Norte
Esquina Común
Tucked into a terrace in the heart of Condesa, Esquina Común has a speakeasy feel — walk through a small café and up to a hidden dining room with natural wines and a constantly changing menu. Led by Chef Ana Dolores González, the food blends local ingredients with international techniques in small, shareable plates.
Reservations go fast, so plan ahead if it's on your list.
Fernando Montes de Oca 86, Condesa
Expendio de Maíz
If you want the opposite of fine-dining formality — but just as much culinary precision — this is the place. Unmarked, cash-only, no menu, no reservations: just four communal tables and corn ground on-site for handmade tortillas, sopes, and huaraches. After being recognized with a Bib Gourmand, Expendio de Maíz was promoted to a full Michelin Star in 2025, recognizing exactly the kind of pure, local character that makes this neighborhood special.
Go early. It fills up fast, and once it's out of food for the day, that's it.
Roma Norte
Vigneron
A sliver of a space with a big personality, Vigneron is dark, moody, and built for sharing. Chef Aram Abisahi's menu is contemporary with French touches — think roasted carrots with stracciatella, crispy polenta with stone crab, and a European wine list that punches well above the
restaurant's size.
It's the kind of place that feels like a discovery, even though everyone's talking about it.
Jalapa 181, Roma Norte
Why This Matters for Your Trip

It's not just a place to stay. It's a place to eat your way through.
